Hitchhiker, Dinosaurs, A Crash, and Star Wars. All in a day's work.

(DISCLAIMER: All video here is our qik and flip video and may or may not be used in the actual show. We are recording much more high-quality stuff that we want to surprise you with later on. So enjoy and do not fear my little sprouts, as our HD videos will also look amazing)

Today was the big day. I woke up around 6:45am after having a horrible nightmare. I dreamt that we were already on the trip and we needed a place to stay. This random guy offered us his place for the night, but when we got there we found out he collected spiders. So you may not know this but I am incredibly arachnophobic. I woke up to the sound of my alarm, and I have never been happier to hear it.
At 7:30 a reporter showed up to our door and started to document us packing and did some last minute interviews. By 8am we were on the road and picked up the first surprise of the trip: ANOTHER ROAD TRIP MEMBER! His name is Daniel Bracken and when he heard we were going to be passing through Arizona he asked if we could give him a ride. As the charitable souls we are we said, “Yeah Daniel, as the charitable souls we are, we will give you a ride.” He has become quite the addition to the trip and we wish we could keep him, but sadly Scottsdale Arizona is the end of the road for him.

We ate at Bagel Me before we left in the Orange Circle and I gave my first Nom Nom Nom or Nom Nom Not? Restauran review. Check out below.

Anyways, our first destination was the Cabazon Dinosaurs. These massive cement Dinosaurs were originally just another tourist trap that appeared in movies like Pee-Wee Herman’s Big Adventure, but when we arrived we realized that it was recently bought by a pastor and converted into a center of worship for the Creationist Church. It was really weird to see how the gift shop inside the belly of the giant Apatosaurus (how do I know that? I’m a nerd) had a video of him preaching about the different creationist beliefs. We had a bit of fun here and got a great story for our first episode.

We then continued our trip to Indio California, the Date Capital of the World. We watched a small movie called Love and Sex of the Date or something like that. Apparently date is a fruit that grows around these parts. Color me confused and foreign but this was not what I had originally thought it would be. So we booked it and decided to head straight to Arizona.

Just then the #1 thing you don’t want to happen on a road trip happened. We got into a car crash. “Really, on the first fucking day?” I said. Followed by Daniel Braken’s now epic “There goes From Orange to Orange” quote. Check out the aftermath below, as we live streamed to the Internet and had people from all over the world comment and ask us questions (Ireland boy we are looking at you).

A hot cop and 2 hours later we were back on the road. We reached Daniel Bracken’s home around 6 something and his family was nothing short of amazing. They welcomed us with open arms, fed us, and gave us a place to rest. BUT, there is something very special about Daniel’s dad. What is it you say? Well, he has one of the most amazing Star Wars memorabilia collections ever! Matt and I get to actually crash in the room that has all the action figures and posters from all over the world. This is an amazing room worth thousands of dollars probably, so maybe I shouldn’t tell them about my bad habit of opening boxes and breaking toys in my sleep. The video of these things will blow your mind, but you'll have to wait for that. We're keeping a lot of great stuff from you that you will be able to see when we release the series in May.

All in all it was a hard day. We really need your support and value every encouraging word. We have a lot more driving to do and a busted car. What will we do? Come back later and find out. We will also be asking for advice and directions tomorrow, so make sure to follow us.

All good things,

Mike
